Finishes

Galvanised

Items with a Galvanised finish - commonly known as Hot Dipped / Hot Spelter Galvanised - have outstanding corrosion protection, so this finish can be counted on to last for many years. This is the standard finish for all agricultural uses. Hardware with this finish are generally made from mild steel.

Black

Mainly purchased for domestic use. Although their corrosion properties are slightly poorer than galvanised finishes, black finished fittings are widely purchased because of their high quality and smart appearance. Hardware with this finish are made from steel.

Self Colour

These products are unfinished and are the colour of the base material (steel). Products are used in situations where the final surface finish of the gate is not applied until after the hardware has been attached, or if the gate is sprayed a none standard colour. For this reason, this finish is frequently found on products that require welding.

Zinc Plated

Mainly purchased for domestic use. Although their corrosion properties are slightly poorer than galvanised finishes, zinc plated finished fittings are widely purchased because of their high quality and shiny finish. Hardware with this finish are generally made from mild steel.

Stainless Steel

These products are made of Grade A4/316 Stainless Steel and have a Satin finish. These are designed for long-term performance with excellent corrosion resistance as well as a more aesthetically pleasing finish than galvanising.
