PERRY EQUESTRIAN CROWNED WINNERS AT BETA BUSINESS AWARDS

Perry Equestrian are celebrating having been crowned winners at this year’s coveted BETA Business Awards. The
Midlands based family run business scooped the competitive Citation Trade Supplier of the year award beating industry stalwarts to the trophy.

The BETA Business Awards are the crème de la crème of awards for those in the equine sector and this is a huge coup for the equine brand that supplies stable, yard and tack room equipment to equine retailers, having only launched in 2017 and is the newest division of the Perry Group.

The Perry Group was founded in 1925 by Arthur Perry, the great grandfather of the now 4th generation business owners,  supplying thousands of other hardware, DIY and gift items all to trade.

The awards recognise companies and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the equestrian industry; with the Citation Trade Supplier of the year award putting the spotlight on those manufacturers, wholesalers or distributors judged to offer the best in delivery, customer service, product knowledge and awareness of retailer requirements.

Steve Perry from Perry Equestrian said: “The Citation Trade Supplier of the year award is the pivotal one for us and it reflects perfectly the strategic growth we have achieved underpinned by our product offering and unrivalled levels of customer service.

“Our website, sales offering and customer base in its entirety is trade only.  It’s key to our business model and one we are fiercely proud of.  By operating in a trade only manner, we ensure that we are competitive with no conflict of interest and this award is testament to that ethos and support we give our partners.  The provision of free merchandising to increase sales and by operating as lean and efficiently as possible to be as competitive as we can be, all go towards supporting retailer profits from the get go.”

Perry Equestrian also cite the way they communicate as a key factor in their success which has evolved and been taken to the next level over the past 12 months.  A £30,000 investment in a brand new website was launched and built entirely around one goal; to increase the ease and user experience of their customers.  It ensures the customer can get all the answers they need at the click of the button, minimising any loss in time using traditional communication channels.

Comments from the judges announced as team took to the stage said: “From highly commended last year to winner this, Perry’s showed that they had really listened to the feedback given last year and changes made to the business were clearly illustrated, inching them ahead of the other finalists.
“They provided clear details about their environmental policy and showed how this had made a difference to themselves and customers alike.”

BETA executive director Claire Williams also added: “This year saw a set of deserving winners in the Business Awards. The bar is always set extremely high but the last year has seen so many challenges impact on the trade from both the pandemic and Brexit that those who received a trophy this year have truly represented the very best in the industry.

“We send our congratulations to them all and our thanks to the companies who sponsored the awards.”
Winners of these prestigious accolades were announced during British Equestrian Trade Association's Business Conference at the Hilton East Midlands
